- You may have noticed a new sign on Beach Road. TopSail Restaurant has a make-over and it’s got a great modern vibe.
- TopSail’s Beach Road Brasserie had a quiet launch mid-September and it’s definitely the place to add to your calendar.
- A little more casual than previous, the owners Debbie and Ian have used their flair and hospitality experience to create a classic brasserie right on Whangarei Harbour, 1st Floor Onerahi Yacht Club.
- You are welcomed by the warm glow of table lamps, black and white gingham tablecloths and large wall mirrors reflecting the fabulous water views. Quality and professionalism are on offer. The delectable smells from the kitchen make it a true assault on the senses!
- ‘We have loved our 18 years of owning and working TopSail and have had fantastic patronage from locals far & wide. We’ve had quite our share of headwinds in that time; the Covid years, storm damage closure and now, with the increasing cost of everything, it is time to evolve.
- We both have a love of the classic European brasserie. Debbie originally from Wales has first-hand experience from her days on the continent and of course Ian trained in French classic cuisine.
- We’ve chosen the essence of the brasserie and brought it to one of the best restaurant locations in New Zealand. No matter the weather, no matter the time, there is always a fabulous view from TopSail’s Beach Road Brasserie. Passing yachts, windsurfers, fishermen, the peaceful lines of Matakohe - Limestone Island, wildlife and of course the stunning sunset at the end of each day’.
- It is a clever menu featuring TopSail favourites with French classics and modern seasonal creations. A la carte, Set Menu for groups and a brand new ‘Banquet Degustation’. The very well compiled wine list and fabulous cocktails. An extensive beverage list including a great range of beers & non-alcoholic drinks.
- Now open Wednesday to Saturday from 5pm with extra tables and a menu offering a tasty selection of starters, mains and desserts. You can even pop in for a bite on your way home from work.
